I am organized, responsive, dependable and have experience in the health and fitness field already that will give me some more insight.
I hope to first learn from everyone and everything around me as a part of this organization and then partner with others to make our profession and healthcare better! I also want everyone to know what physical therapy is and how vast it can really be.

I currently run two small businesses outside of school and enjoy creating social media content and creating more emphasis and understanding about the physical therapy profession. I also enjoy working with others on a team and learning the best possible way to communicate with people and planning events.
I hope to raise more awareness about the importance of being a member of KPTA and APTA. There are a tremendous benefit that are available for students and professionals when joining/obtaining a membership position. I also wish to create an environment that is geared towards learning about the PT/PTA profession and professional development.

I believe that from previous experiences that I possess relevant qualities such as leadership, responsibility, reliability, teamwork, integrity, honesty, and excellence.
First and foremost, I believe the experiences I could gain from a position on this board could help me grow as both an individual and a physical therapist. Not only can I develop different vital qualities from just being in a leadership position such as one of these, but I hope to gain knowledge from the many individuals I could have the potential of meeting with this opportunity. The experience I was able to have at the student conclave in November was awesome, I enjoyed learning so much from the different guest speakers as well as meeting the different students from different schools. The second thing I hope to accomplish is learning more about physical therapy in Kansas in general. I want to hear more about what developments are happening in the physical therapy world and around the state. I want to know what issues there are and different ideas others may have for what can be done to help improve the KPTA. I was born and raised in Kansas and plan on continuing to live hear after graduating. I want the opportunity to know what is being done in our state's physical therapy organization, as well as have the chance to help contribute and improve its future. Finally, I hope to develop a network of peers and advisers of which I might meet through one of these positions. I've enjoyed meeting the different students and teachers at Saint Mary, and I've learned so much from all of them, and hope to continue building relationships with them to be able to learn more from all of them. I hope to build this network of individuals in the same field as me through the KPTA SSIG to be able to grow my knowledge and learn through experiences of others.

What makes me a qualified candidate for the positions I selected is I am someone who enjoys being involved with whatever I partake in. I think getting involved with extra curricular activities outside of your school and work is a great way to make connections and help spread the message of whatever it is one is partaking in. Thus, I want to be apart spreading the message and help out in any way I can, which will help me grow as a professional.
I believe my previous experiences in undergrad have prepared me into someone who can help lead, make decisions, and reach out. As I was involved in sports where I frequently participated in volunteer opportunities within the community. I was also involved in a pro bono service at my undergrad institute called Washburn Moves which helped people in the community with their health. These functions helped me grow as a professional as I was put into positions to help direct activities and plan exercise training and heath improvement for individuals. Overall, I can bring forth experience and positive energy to the KPTA at one of the positions I selected and attempt to help this organization continue on the solid path it is heading towards.

I am accountable, organized, determined, and authentic.
In this position I hope to bring more awareness to SPTs about how to professionally network and help provide opportunities to do so. In this position, I also hope to help SPTs learn about the different areas/specialities available within the physical therapy profession.

I feel that one of my best character traits is my ability to effectively communicate and work on a team. In the profession of physical therapy, we are reminded of the importance of effective communication to our patients, their family, and the healthcare team as a whole. I also feel that my organizational skills could be a very useful tool for the Director of Membership. Along with being a PT student at WSU's program, I also work for the department as a graduate teaching assistant. I feel that being a GTA has helped me improve my skills in communication, leadership, and accountability which would be required of this position.
My biggest goal for this position is to continue to advocate for both DPT and PTA students in Kansas in the profession of physical therapy. It has been a goal of mine to help contribute in any way possible to represent and support the association. Its importance on both the local and national level is imperative for the profession.
