What school do you attend and what year are you in school?
I am a 2nd year DPT student at the University of St. Mary. Why did you choose Physical Therapy? I chose PT because I wanted to find a career that allowed me to build relationships, promote a healthy lifestyle, and use my god-given gifts. I am so excited to help improve lives and get people back to what they love doing. Physical Therapists have such a special role in healthcare and I believe my future is going to be very fulfilling. Why did you want to be a part of KPTA SSIG? I wanted to be apart of the KPTA SSIG because I really enjoy connecting with Physical Therapists and students in this field. My hope is to learn more about this profession and help contribute to the future of Physical Therapy. What is a hobby you enjoy outside of school? Outside of school, I enjoy running, traveling, and spending time with friends. My two favorite times of the year are football season and lake season! |

What school do you attend and what year are you in school?
I am a 2nd year DPT student at the University of Saint Mary. Why did you choose Physical Therapy? I chose physical therapy because we have the opportunity to form meaningful relationships with our patients as we walk alongside them during their recovery. As physical therapists, we have the privilege to learn our patient’s story and tailor their plan of care to help them with their own unique needs in mind. I also became interested in this field because there are many different paths to take based on your personal interests, and that you can continually grow within the profession. Why did you want to be a part of KPTA SSIG? I wanted to be a part of KPTA SSIG board because I want to be more involved with my professional organization. As a member of the KPTA SSIG board I will have the opportunity grow as a leader and an advocate for the profession, as well meet other like-minded individuals who are passionate about physical therapy. What is a hobby you enjoy outside of school? Outside of school, I enjoy catching up on my favorite shows, reading, and hanging out with friends. I also love doing all things outdoors and running around with my nieces! |

I am a 2nd year DPT student at the University of Saint Mary. Why did you choose Physical Therapy? I chose Physical Therapy because I saw it as a great way to continue to give back to my community in a unique way. Physical therapy is a field that provides many opportunities to patients and the therapists themselves by having such a wide variety of settings that therapy can be seen in. Why did you want to be a part of KPTA SSIG? I wanted to be a part of the KPTA SSIG so that I could advocate for physical therapists and our profession. Furthermore, I wanted to better myself as a future Physical Therapist by learning new skills and developing a wider network of communications. What is a hobby you enjoy outside of school? Outside of school, you can catch me fishing, exercising, watching TV, or spending time with my friends or family. |

I am a 2nd year DPT student at the University of Saint Mary. Why did you choose Physical Therapy? I chose Physical Therapy because I love the idea of building relationships and helping people in times that may be difficult for them. Throughout this occupation I will see motivation and determination from the patients to get back to their desired function. I love knowing that I can be someone who helps others in times of challenges and difficulties. Why did you want to be a part of KPTA SSIG? I wanted to be a part of the KPTA SSIG because I want to contribute to my future profession. It is important that student's voices are heard and I want to advocate for my fellow classmates and colleagues. This is also a great opportunity to network with businesses and other students from different schools. What is a hobby you enjoy outside of school? Outside of school and studying I love spending time with my friends and family. I also love taking pictures and capturing memories and milestones for people! |

What school do you attend and what year are you?
I am a second year DPT student at the University of Saint Mary. Why did you choose Physical Therapy? I chose Physical Therapy due to the endless opportunities of individuals we can work with. Every aspect in life involves progression and growth and becoming a Physical Therapist would mean I would be surrounded by that daily. Being a Physical Therapist is also one of the most fulfilling roles, having the opportunity to rehab an individual from illness or pain to wellness is about growing and progressing with each person. A career involving physiological and physical health is the best of both worlds and what I am most passionate about. Why did you want to be a part of KPTA SSIG? I wanted to be a part of KPTA SSIG to put myself in an environment that would challenge me. Surrounding myself with a community that may not think the same way as I do. This experience will prepare me for the challenges I may face as well and help enhance my perspective. As a result, will benefit my relationships and interactions well beyond Physical Therapy school. What is a hobby you enjoy outside of school? I like to partake in many hobbies outside of school; I enjoy spending time alone to recharge, along with indoor rock climbing, meditating, journaling, kayaking, going to the gym, roller skating, and going on walks. |

What school do you attend and what year are you?
I am a 2nd year at the University of Saint Mary’s in Leavenworth Kansas. Why did you choose Physical Therapy? Physical Therapy can provide people in need with conservative and life-changing outcomes wherein Doctors of Physical Therapy (DPTs) will personally impact the health of their patients. Especially now, with the push for Direct Access, DPTs have the ability to directly aid the members of their communities with evidenced-based and affordable treatments. I chose Physical Therapy because of these reasons and the need I saw in the people around me. Why did you want to be a part of KPTA SSIG? Being around the Physical Therapy community has shown me the many different ways Physical Therapy is advancing. As such, it is important to advocate for PT, and this is a great way to develop meaningful and productive relationships with others who want to do the same! What is a hobby you enjoy outside of school? When I’m not studying or in class, I enjoy riding my motorcycle to go hangout with friends and talk about Lord of the Rings! |
