Benefits of KPTA SSIG
If you are a member of the APTA/KPTA, then you are already a member of SSIG. Becoming a part of SSIG gives you an opportunity to have a voice within your state chapter. It will provide and foster leadership skills, create networking opportunities and may introduce you to mentors.

LeadershipNot only does SSIG open up opportunities to develop leadership skills, it also allows you to jump in feet first. As a member, you are eligible to run for the SSIG board of directors. You will take an active role in planning the annual Midwest Student Conclave and have larger opportunities to network.

NetworkingNetworking is an important part of any career path. It opens up opportunities while you are in school and for the future. As a member of SSIG, you will be able to network with other students, instructors and future employers. This may open your eyes to a new path within PT or help you land that dream job in the future.

MentorshipAs a student, your questions about the future are endless. A mentor is important to answering those questions and developing from a student into a professional. SSIG events and leadership increase your chances to network with potential mentors.

f you have already joined SSIG and want to be more involved, you may consider joining the board. Elections are held annually. You may simply sit on the board to increase your voice or run for a board of directors position. As a member of the board of directors, you can take on many roles. The biggest role being planning of the annual Midwest Student Conclave. Still interested?

- Must be enrolled as a full-time student in a PT or PTA program.
- Must be a member of the APTA/KPTA for at least 6 months
- No experience required.
